This list is updated as new classes are added throughout the season.

Classes are held at the Pflugerville Recreation Center, 400 Immanuel Road, unless otherwise stated.

Payment and Class Policies

Payment Policies

  • Pay with cash, check, MasterCard, VISA or American Express cards.
  • Some classes offer payment plans. See class descriptions for details.
  • Refunds of paid fees will be given if a class does not meet the minimum enrollment requirements and an alternate class cannot be found.
  • Cancellations will be accepted up to one week before the start of a session. A $7 administrative fee will be retained by the city.
  • If cancellation occurs within 7 days of the start or after start of a class, no refunds will be given.

Class Policies

  • One does not have to be a member of the Recreation Center to participate in classes, sports leagues or workshops.
  • Members do not receive discounts on costs of Recreation Center classes.
  • All classes are age-appropriate and age requirements are enforced for the safety of all participants.
  • Please, no children in adult classes as participants or observers.
  • Classes, fees and times are subject to change without prior notice and at the discretion of the instructor(s).
  • Classes without the minimum required number of enrolled participants will be canceled and refunds or credits provided.
Youth Active and Educational Classes

Archery

  • Location: Heritage Park, 901 Old Austin Hutto Road. Classes are held inside the Green Red Barn if the weather is bad.

  • $85 for 5-week session

Learn the Olympic Sport of archery in this beginner-level class. The skills of modern-day archery with USA Archery Associates techniques will be learned through skill drills, active shooting, and games. All equipment is provided. Students should dress accordingly. Instructor: Ron Dahlseid.

Tuition for the entire school-year session:

  • 45 minutes to 1 hour per week -- $269
  • 1 hour and 45 minutes per week -- $375

Must register by September 1 for the following discount/payment plan:

  • 10% discount if paid in full at registration, OR,
  • Set-up a payment plan and pay half at registration and the other half will be due by November 4. After November 3 , late fees will be applied.

Dance - Short Session

  • $89 for a 7-week session

One hour class combines ballet and tap (with a bit of tumbling), in an environment rich with props, music, and even costumed characters. Activities in this fun-filled class teach developmentally appropriate skills, encourage creativity, and help the students develop rhythm and coordination.

Enshin Karate

  • $75 for a 6-week session (additional fee will apply for uniform)

Instructor Sensei Andrew Budd teaches both children and adults the practical system of empty-handed self defense, known as Enshin Karate. Enshin Karate stresses the development of flexibility, power, and speed with emphasis on stretching, conditioning, and technique. Training builds spiritual awareness, mental alertness, a sense of confidence, as well providing resources for meeting life's challenges.

Gymnastics

Mommy & Me Music

  • $50 for a 6-week session

Mommy and Me Making Music classes are designed to promote social, cognitive, and communication skills through interactive music and singing in a fun and loving environment.

Preschool Picassos * New in 2019!

  • Ages 2 - 5
    • Ages 2 - 3, parent must participate

A fun introduction to art for Toddlers (& a parent) using different materials and mediums to make different themed crafts each session. Kids will learn originality, experimentation, exploration, increased fine motor skills, and help to develop the basics of art skills & concepts, as well as an appreciation for art!

Robotics

  • Beginners: 3:30  - 5 p.m.
  • Intermediate: 5 - 6:30 p.m.

Ignite your interest in science and technology's most fascinating field of today and tomorrow, ROBOTICS! Class is designed for all ages. In teams, build then use EV3 software to command your robot to explore, conduct experiments and use innovative engineering design processes while learning the latest technology. Advance to Level 2 and explore the possibility to begin in the world of competitive robotics.

Sewing

Sewing Valentine Workshop

Adult Fitness

This low-impact fitness class is great for seniors, low mobility persons, or adults with rehab or physical therapy issues. This class will fit your needs.

Adult Tap Dance

High Energy Barre * New for 2019!

  • Continuous class - Starting in January
  • Tuesdays and Fridays, 8:30 a.m.
  • $50 for 10 classes or $7 per class

Energize and strengthen your total body with a focus on core, posture, balance, stability, flexibility, weight loss, and cardiovascular fitness. Barre class also includes the use of yoga, Pilates, and functional training. Please bring a bottle of water and an exercise mat. Instructor: Carol Lee

Senior Chair Yoga

Senior Line Dancing

(Senior Club members - join today!)

  • Beginner and Intermediate: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the gymnasium
  • Advanced: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Windermere Clubhouse, 16800 Gower St.

Participants are asked to join and pay the low-cost annual membership dues to Senior Activity Center. Adults ages 55 and older learn a variety of steps to music from years gone by and today's contemporary hits. Classes are held in the gymnasium at the Recreation Center.

Tai Chi

  • $40 per month, $10 per class

One centered person between Heaven and Earth. Tai Chi is a slow, continuous, relaxed and focused movement. It provides the benefits of meditation, the positive effects of exercise, and helps to improve coordination, flexibility, and balance. Tai Chi can help you reduce stress and attain feelings of well-being. This class will teach you the 24 movements of the simplified form and is suitable for both beginner and continuing students. Birds of Lake Pflugerville

  • Enjoy a bird walking tour, bird guide raffle and bird craft from Sebastian Casarez

Sebastian Casarez, 15 years old, is a passionate, avid, self taught young Texas birder and bird conservationist. In 2015, Sebastian became the first child at the age of 12 to be awarded a Children in Nature Collaborative of Austin Award (CINCA). Since the age of nine, Sebastian has presented several bird presentations throughout Texas at festivals, libraries, schools, TPWD State Parks, local city parks, Nature Conservancy Davis Mountains Preserve(2016), and several community events. In 2018, Sebastian was recognized as the first young "Avian Advocate" by Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center WILDFLOWER Magazine. In 2017, Sebastian started a birding project called The Texas Blue Jay Project, where he travels throughout Texas encouraging Texans to explore birdwatching in their backyards, city and state parks.

Pfieldtrippin'

    • Trip Destination: McKinney Falls State Park

Kick-off Spring Break with a Pfieldtrip to McKinney Falls State Park where we will have a scavenger hunt, hike and possibly even play in the water! Pfieldtrippers need to pack proper shoes, a swim suit, sunscreen, a water bottle, and a lunch.

Java & Journey

Java & Journey is a new program for active adults ages 18 - 35 who enjoy social hiking. Every month from February to April, you can join Pflugerville Parks and Recreation as we explore a local coffee shop and hike in the Austin area. Transportation is provided.

The Greater Austin Area has an abundance of great photo opportunities. Why wait? Join Pflugerville Parks and Recreation and other young adults as we tour photo landmarks of the Greater Austin area and get that Instagram-worthy shot! Transportation is provided.

Pfun Outdoors

This program is part of the Pf Seniors Recreation program, and participation requires Pf Seniors membership. For more information, visit PfSeniors.com or contact the Recreation Center. 

Take in the sights of the great outdoors as you join other nature-oriented seniors on hiking, biking and outdoor recreation trips across Texas. 

Cost: varies from $3 - $7 for entrance fee, bring $ for food.

Open League Play (all ages)

Pickleball

  • Every Thursday, 5 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
  • Recreation Center Gymnasium
  • Cost: current Recreation Center membership or purchase a $5 one-day pass at the front desk

Come learn something new! Pickleball is a low-net game, with a court size similar to tennis. The game is played in singles or doubles with a wiffle ball and paddle similar size to a ping-pong paddle.

Adult Volleyball

  • Sundays, 6 p.m. - 9 p.m.
  • Winter League: January 27- April 7, 2019
  • Recreation Center Gymnasium
  • Cost: $175 per team
  • Registration Closes January 23, 2019

This adult league includes all ability levels! There's still space to sign up your team, or just join yourself and help out a team in need of a teammate! This league takes place after the Recreation Center closes every Sunday (unless otherwise noted on the completed game schedule) starting at 6 p.m. Team sign-up forms can be picked up at the Recreation Center.

Sand Adult Volleyball

  • Cost: $40 per player

This adult league includes all ability levels! Registration for a team, or just join yourself and help out a team in need of a teammate! This league takes place on Thursday evenings at the Pfluger Park sand volleyball courts. Register online or team sign-up forms can be picked up at the Recreation Center.
