Construction on Wilbarger Creek Park set to begin week of September 16
Construction on Wilbarger Creek Park at the southwest corner of Kingston Lacy Boulevard and Craters of the Moon Boulevard is set to begin the week of September 16. The park plan, approved by City Council in March, will include playground areas, outdoor classroom space, a youth velo-way, a practice field, parking, trails and restrooms on 10.5 acres of this 104.42 acre park.
The youth velo-way, a cycling track for non-motorized wheeled vehicles, is the first of its kind in Pflugerville. This park also provides opportunities for outdoor education, with its close proximity to Wilbarger Creek and acres of undeveloped parkland.
The park was identified in the Trails Master Plan & Undeveloped Parks Study completed in 2014. Funding for this project is from Parkland Dedication funds and the 2014 General Obligation Bonds approved by voters. Construction will last approximately 10 months with work conducted between 7 a.m. – 8 p.m. For questions or concerns about the park, call 512-990-6400 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
