Council approves construction contract for Gilleland Creek Pool Renovations
On Tuesday, the City Council awarded a construction contract for the Gilleland Creek Pool Renovation Project, which will replace the pool's existing pool interior finishes, replace the mechanical systems including suction and return piping, pumps, filtration, chemical treatment and automated systems.
“The Gilleland Creek Pool has been a great community asset for over 25 years with over a half a million visits and tens of thousands of learn to swim participants over its lifetime. This project ensures that the pool will continue to be a safe and enjoyable facility for aquatic recreation and competitions for 25 more,” Parks and Recreation Director James Hemenes said.
The cost of the project is approximately $720,000 and work will be complete by summer 2018.
