Lake Pflugerville Closed; Recovery Efforts Resume for Missing Swimmer

5/17/18 Update: Recovery efforts are underway this morning as authorities continue their search for a missing swimmer. Lake Pflugerville and lake trails remain closed at this time, and citizens are asked to avoid the lake area until further notice. 

Pflugerville Lake Update (9:11pm 5/16/18): Emergency services have suspended recovery efforts for the evening and will resume tomorrow. The lake will remain closed until further notice. Continue to monitor @PfChiefRobledo on Twitter and the PD website for the latest developments.

Pflugerville Lake Update (7:28pm): Pflugerville Police, Emergency Services District #2 (Pflugerville Fire) and TCSO dive team are on scene and the search is now one of recovery. The lake remains closed and residents are asked to avoid the area while first responders perform their search. 

Today at approximately 3:24 p.m. an assist EMS call came to Pflugerville Dispatch referring to a swimmer in distress. There was a report of a male in his 20's going under water approximately 50 ft from the North Shore of Lake Pflugerville located at 18216 Weiss Lane. Pflugerville Police and Emergency Services District #2  are on scene and conducting a search.  The lake is closed to the public at this time.  There is no current danger to the public. Please stay clear of the area to allow first responders to work.
