Adopt-A-Trail Program

Post Date:10/04/2017 9:00 a.m.

The City of Pflugerville Parks and Recreation Department encourages families, neighborhoods, community or civic groups, businesses, youth groups, schools, and individuals to get involved in the beautification of the trails system. Each Adopt-A-Trail volunteer group makes a two-year commitment of time and energy to keep Pflugerville trails clean and enjoyable for walkers, joggers and cyclists. In return, the volunteer group’s name is displayed along the trail for the passerby to know of the organization’s effortsAdopt a trail sign 1

For each Adopt-A-Trail sponsor, the maintenance responsibility includes litter pickup, weeding and small debris removal. Each group is to notify the Parks and Recreation Department of their clean-up days and efforts as a minimum of two clean-ups a year is required. After a clean-up, each group is asked to complete a Clean-Up Report that documents the volume of trash picked up, the date of the removal, the number of volunteers and provide feedback to parks maintenance crews on condition of neighboring trees, creek and common areas.
